How do you think racial media has evolved through time? Has the message stayed the same or has it changed as well?
ReplyDeleteI think the ideology has remained the same but the way in which it is promoted and spread has changed. The internet has exponetially increased the amount of exposure to racist media and in many ways has helped keep it alive. As far as the message i think old racism has been rejected and ridiculed and has proven inneffective as a recruitment tool to mainstream america. This is why we hear white nationalist instead of supremacist a lot more often. There has just generally been a change in rhetoric which has made the ideology more accessible, as outright hate was no longer attractive or defendable to the mainstream.
